Ipinagtanggol ng kampo ni retired Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal ang pahayag niya tungkol sa hiling na magbitiw si Pangulong Aquino matapos ang engkuwentro sa Mamasapano. Binasa lang daw ni Vidal ang pahayag ng National Transformation Council. Nanawagan naman ang pinuno ng CBCP na magsabi ng katotohanan ang mga sangkot sa madugong engkuwentro.
