The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) has offered to speed up peace negotiations aimed at ending the country's five-decade armed conflict. The rebels urged that a final agreement be reached before the March 23, 2016 deadline. President Juan Manuel Campos said all details could be worked out before December 31 to begin the New Year with a bilateral ceasefire. The FARC urged that the date be moved up to December 16 to allow Colombians to enjoy their Christmas holidays in peace. teleSUR
