Cubs' owners cease fundraising, airing pro-Trump ads during World Series

The Ricketts family, which own the Chicago Cubs, have decided to cease any political fundraising at Wrigley Field, as well as the airing of any pro-Donald Trump ads on TV broadcasts, during the team's World Series run against the Indians. The Ricketts have long been donors of the GOP and recently aired a brutal ad attacking Trump’s Democratic rival Hillary Clinton during the Cubs’ last playoff series. The change by the Ricketts comes after Chicago's liberal newspaper, the Chicago Reader, charged the family with “funneling fans' hard-earned money toward an effort to elect Trump.”
