'Body of pilot found' after Russia military plane crash

As Russia all but rules out terrorism as a cause of its military plane crash, the TASS news agency says the body of the pilot in command of the doomed aircraft has been found by divers in the Black Sea.

More fragments of the Tupolev-154 are also being recovered as search efforts continue.

“All parts that are discovered have been brought ashore and handed over to the investigation authorities,” a defence ministry spokesman told reporters, confirming that another body had been found without giving further details.

On Monday’s national day of mourning, more floral tributes were laid for the 64 members of the famed Alexandrov Ensemble military choir killed in the crash. They had been heading to Syria to give a concert at a Russian air base.

There were poignant scenes too at Sochi for all 92 people who perished just after take-off from the resort, as Russia increasingly considers pilot error or a technical fault to be the likely cause of the tragedy.
