Dear White People Creator To Direct Biopic About Sugar Hill Records Founder

According to SF Gate, Justin Simien, the creator and director of “Dear White People,” is going to direct a Warner Brothers project about “The Mother of Hip-Hop,” Sylvia Robinson. Robinson, who started her career in the singing duo Mickey and Sylvia, went on to become a prominent record producer, writing and producing for artists such as Ike and Tina Turner, Kid Rock, P. Diddy, and Snoop Dogg.
