Not Adhering to Polling Place Dress Codes Can Result in Being Turned Away.
According to Fox News, many states prohibit campaigning
at polling places within 100 feet of the polls.
But some states also frown upon "passive electioneering," which includes wearing clothing with a candidate's name.
According to the National Conference
of State Legislatures (NCSL), .
at least 21 states have restrictions pertaining
to political attire, and 15 prohibit it.
Clothing displaying a candidate's name or political issues is typically banned within those states.
Some states, like California, prohibit candidate's names, likenesses and logos but allows slogans such as
"Black Lives Matter" or "Make America Great Again.".
Other states, such as Arizona, allow voters to wear any kind of political attire they choose.
