A suspected arson attack on a bus left Soho Road closed between Rookery Road and Alfred Road. West Midlands Police stated than nobody is believed to be injured and advise members of the public to avoid the area if possible.

A concerning report by the Government's Regulator of Social Housing has unveiled failures within Birmingham City Council's housing department. It concluded that Birmingham City Council has breached the consumer standards for tenants, finding a range of serious health and safety concerns across thousands of homes.

Birmingham City Council has approved plans for a 150 metre long, 40 metre high viaduct to carry the UK's HS2 rail system into the city's new Curzon Street Station. Contractor Balfour Beatty Vinci is set to begin construction on the project.
