US Senator says delaying arms to Israel akin to 'Hiroshima and Nagasaki on steroids'

In testimony before the Senate Appropriations Committee, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Wednesday (May 8) that Israel shouldn't launch a major attack in Rafah "without accounting for and protecting the civilians that are in that battlespace."

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham questioned the rationale behind the pause comparing the situation to World War Two and the dropping of atomic bombs.
