Israeli Tanks Enter Rafah, IDF In "Operational Control" Of Aid Crossing As Hamas Accepts Truce Deal

After months of threatening a ground offensive in Rafah, Israel on May sent tanks into the Palestinian city in Gaza Strip. The Israeli army said it took "operational control" of the Palestinian side of the Rafah border crossing on May 7 and that troops were scanning the area.
The military added that the ground troops were also carrying out an operation in eastern Rafah. The ground offensive comes after repeated Israeli air strikes on Rafah in the past couple of days.
