Let us talk about some fun rooms in your house, something that you can do to create a space that you did not think was there before. How about a wine cellar in a closet? This originally was a storage closet and the client wanted to do a really great wine cellar. That was quite a challenge for us in space planning because there was so little room to really get in everything he wanted to but we were able to achieve it with the help of a good wine cellar designer and our design we came up with a really great plan, I think, for this closet. Notice that we used very thick stone. My concept was I wanted to this to look like a French Wine Cellar. And if you look at the ceiling you can see I did a light fixture that I actually designed and had built for this particular project. And my concept was I wanted this to look like the roots of the trees and the vines that grow down through the limestone in France. We also put mirrors in here to expand the space. Mirrors are tricky, they should only be used where they absolutely are necessary and they are really going to reflect something that is interesting. And then we made sure that the entire space was clad in limestone so it really gave you the feeling when you walked inside that you are in a French wine cave, even though you are really in a storage closet.
